Decode Dubai is a hackathon initiative by Dubai Internet City and in5. The second edition was co-organised by The Assembly. In keeping with DIC being accepted as a City submission to the Smart City App Hack, The Assembly were tasked with hosting the live Hackathon at in5 Innovation Centre and invite the community to hack to the five themes of Urban Mobility, Energy & Emission, Culture & Tourism, Shopping & Retail, and Collaborative City. We had 185 Registrants, 41 Ideas pitched on stage, 143 Participants, 27 Teams Formed, with 87 Hackers/Coders hacked on-site overnight at the in5 Innovation Centre. These participants were given 2 Days to build their ideas!

The process was long and tiring, but we emerged with 9 winners and 2 honourable mentions – one each from the Judges and Mentors. They were:
– Connected Cars and Analytic Driving Skills for Urban Mobility
– Energicity and MyGreenRank for Energy & Emission
– BeThere and MV3 for Culture & Tourism
– Daleela and D2D for Shopping & Retail, and
– KarmaConomy for Collaborative City

The honourable Mentions were:
