Building vehicles that are unmanned & autonomous, requires the knowledge of how to enable a robot to “think” autonomously. This includes working with different platform, their sensor subsystems, and coding for them. Understanding how the sensors work and the different settings needed for different applications, and how they work in collaboration with the other hardware surrounding it is also important.
This workshop showed people how to use the different open source platforms available in the world of robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as, autonomous ground vehicles. The participants were given an introduction to GPS sensors, Cameras, Controller Systems, and other dependancies in the desired environment.
